Statement from Barbara Anne Ferris
Posted:2/9/2008
Mr. Kucinich’s decision to drop out of the presidential race is a good one, but does not go far enough: he needs to drop out of the congressional race as well. Let’s face facts: Mr. Kucinich’s quixotic, coast-to-coast campaign to stamp out poverty, make peace across the planet, end global warming and extend a friendly hand to visitors from outer space, while not completely without merit, must by now leave us all wondering if Mr. Kucinich himself is in fact a UFO. This most spectacular Sunday began with the Cleveland Plain Dealer's endorsement of Barbara Anne Ferris to represent the 10th District in Congress over the 9 year incumbent. Needless to say, the phones rang off the hook, (including her mom's, her brother's, her aunt's, and her neighbors when they couldn't get through to Barbara). The emails flowed by the hundreds with utter joy, excitement and most importantly hope!
Barbara Anne and her team of volunteers joined thousands of others to celebrate Earth Day at the zoo. Meeting and greeting voters early in the day, Barbara Anne saw lots of good friends and met new supporters. Volunteers walked around the zoo in their Ferris for Congress t-shirts and enjoyed the day with their families. Lots of folks spotted those famous Ferris shirts - and sent emails to let us know that they are cheering for us from afar! That's cool!
Early evening Bingo was great because half the Bingo players are now greeting Barbara by name and telling her which Bingos are the most crowded with voters. There was even a huge discussion on where Barbara should go the last week of the campaign to visit the most voters. Barb's got a Bingo following. Later in the evening, Barbara was on a radio program with lots of callers!

Barbara Anne started the day at WKTX the Nationalities Broadcasting Network, appearing in a radio program with a diverse, ethnic listening audience. From there, she headed over to morning Bingo and the senior centers in Lakewood. Monday evening, Barbara went to the Cleveland City Council meeting where she was warmly greeted by lots of voters who cheered her Plain Dealer endorsement!
